Last year this was a key chain. I never listed it and decided to remake it into a necklace.
It cracks me up.
It was cut out of an old Harold Robbins novel.
He was the "hot" romance/trash novelist of the time in the 60's and 70's.
Pretty racy stuff back then.
I added some fun old beads.
It's really long, too.
I have no idea WHAT this woman is doing.
I thought the picture was great, though.
More Romance.
This came out of a less trashy romance novel.
Romance novels are very popular at the library where I work.
The funny part is so many of the women who read them
apologize for checking them out!
This always makes me laugh.
And I say,
"We just check out your materials. We don't judge."
Then I wink and tell them to enjoy it.
The sweetest library story about romance novels is this one.
An older woman who has long since passed on used to
check out a lot of them. She was so much fun. I really miss her.
She was very outspoken and would just blurt out the most
hilarious things.
One day, she says,
"Do you know why I read this junk?"
I didn't know what to say.
So, I kept quiet and smiled.
She said,
"Because
I want to remember
what it was like."
That always brings a smile to my face.
And
She was a wonderful lady.
And that - is a wonderful memory.

Kathy, you never cease to amaze me. These are all beautiful!
I don't read them, but I don't judge, I read a bit of everything except romances or chick lit.
What a sweet story mixed in with your smut....not unlike a real romance novel :)
I hope someone thinks of me someday the way you remember this Dear Lady....what a wonderful thing that is....
Fantastique !!! Bravo ! Formidable !
Love these Valentine's Day Treats. I have been known to check out a trashy novel now and again. Hey, I'm 46, not dead ! ;-)
Have a great week !
Thanks so much for being a new follower on my blog! I'm delighted to see new faces, because they lead me to their own blogs that I might not have found before! Yours is one of those, and I'm excited to find you! I have some catching up to do in exploring new blogs, but from what I've seen on yours so far, I'm going to have a lot of fun seeing your pictures. Your creations are gorgeous!
Hope you have a wonderful day,
Gaby
Hi Kathy, I really enjoyed your blog. I recently retired from our local Public Library after working there for 25 years and I too miss the patrons, especially those who had a little zip to them, LOL I love all the beautiful jewelry also. Did you make it all? Thanks for sharing. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris
