- Strange chirping sound emanating from storm sewer outside of library.
- Fire department is contacted. (I live in a small town. This IS done).
- Fire department shows up. ( I live in a small town. They DO show up)
- Ducks. Baby ducks in storm sewer.
- Mother duck fitfully fretting and pacing.
- Tools involved: One fire truck complete with fire department personnel. Two rakes. One fishing net. One large plastic container.
- Helpers: Librarians, library patrons and one small child.

Enjoy your day and know that in some parts of the country, the fire department and a group of librarians are doing their part to save the world. One duck at a time.

This totally made my night! =D Yay for people who still care! You guys made all the difference to those ducks. (I adore ducks, by the way... ^-^)
Perfect... Highlight of my day so far. If all our tax dollars went to such great causes it would be a perfect world!!
