A Fortnight of Carnage

It's been two weeks!
Holy Cow.  How'd that happen?
I could tell you.
But,
then, I'd have to kill ya.

No.  That's not quite right.
You'd want to kill me.
No one really likes to hear
about another person's ailments.
And believe you me,
I could drone on
and on
and on.
You wouldn't like it.

It all started with an innocent enough
root canal.
Yup.
The dreaded word.
r-o-o-t
c-a-n-a-l
They aren't so bad.
I've had a few.

But this one-
Well, it left me looking like this:

Yeah.
Really.
Suffice it to say,
It wasn't pretty.
or
interesting.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......

But I got caught up on my Etsy shop.

Watched my tomatoes grow.

Made some fun jewelry

Recreated some vintage jewelry.

Asked a lot of questions following statements from the dentist
like this one:

Dentist:  No.  You cannot drink an entire bottle of whiskey before the procedure.

Me:  Why Not?

I took fine art
and turned it into
campy earrings.
Does doing this make my jewelry
"fine art?"

...No.

I didn't think so.

I saw this!

I cried at the end.
For a lot of reasons.
It was sad.
And my Advil wore off.

And I made these.
The earrings are called
"It's Raining Men."
Do you remember that song.
Here it is if you don't.
CLICK here.

It makes me smile.
I like it better than
Rene Magritte's title
Golgotha.

My daughter says she thinks the song is creepy.
"Think of the carnage," she says.
I watched the video.
It is kind of creepy.
She's right!!

But
it still makes me smile.

:o)

Magritte.
He had no idea
what he hath wrought.

Hi Sweet!
Oh sorry about the root canal... I have had a couple of bad ones - not fun. But you made such wonderful jewelry when you were re-cooperating.
This weather has kicked my booty... I am in the process of cleaning out my studio at home and moving out of the Gallery. I just haven't been there enough this past year to justify the money. I put a double tent up in the backyard to put all my stuff under so I could rearrange the studio. With all the storms going thru it was in a heap the other morning... I now half a single tent in my backyard. Have a great week and say hi to you neighbor.
Blessings
Rebecca

Love, Love, LOVE your jewelry! And now I can't get "raining men" out of my head . . . . it's playing over and over -- but I LOVE it!!! Hahah!
So sorry to hear that you've been in root canal hell too. OMG! I've had 5 (count them) visits. Now I start the appointment round with my regular dentist to repair/replace what the endodontist wrecked. ((I cried!!) BTW - I don't know where you found that little chipmunk, but that's EXACTLY how I looked too!!! Twins!!!! Yup! That's us ...... sad to say, isn't it?!?!? Hugs, Terri xoxo

Ha ha! Was laughing all the way though this post - er, not about the root canal though. No sirreeee, that's nasty. And I say a bottle of whisky would probably do the trick! Your jewellery is all fabulous and really different :-)

I sobbed and sobbed at the end of that movie. Being the mother of a grown son and seeing Harry grown up just touched something in me. I felt like I'd known him since he was a baby.

Thanks for the Dorothy charm!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it!

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your bother. It sounds really painful :( I like how you've been channeling that pain though, great earrings! I hope you're feeling better now and your face has returned to normal. There's nothing worse, as the say xx

Oh how I've missed you! When a post makes you wriggle in your chair cuz you don't want to miss any part of it instead of getting up to pee...you know it's good!
